Attractions Javea

The Old Town, with its whitewashed buildings with Gothic features is a very nice place to spend a couple of hours, when visiting Javea. The gothic Church of San Bartolome and the busy indoor fish, fruit and vegetable market are also located in the Old Town. Close by the church, is the tourist information of Javea, which will give you a map of a suggested route through the Old Town.

Javea Port, is a port that is in use every day, both by fishing boats and yachts. It is an area where both locals and tourists live, and it has a lovely promenade with lots of restaurants and bars. it can also boast a spectacular view across the bay.

Scuba diving and other watersports are very popular in Javea, and there are many places where you can take classes and buy/rent equipment.

  • Fiestas, The main fiesta in Javea is held in the end of July, and is celebrated in the traditional Spanish way with fireworks, parades, music and lots of good food.

    From 28 April – 3 May Javea pays homage to Jesus the Nazarene
    From 1 –8 September, the town celebrates their patroness Our Lady of Loreto.
