Calpe, was once a small fishing village on the Costa Blanca, but has in recent years grown to be the smaller sibling of Benidorm. High rise buildings are now the main feature of the city, which is no longer so calm and quiet.. It is a very popular tourist destination, but also amongst the locals. Calpe is surrounded by two large rocks, one of them being Penyal de Ifach, which is a gigantic limestone rock,332 metres high, and sits right on calpe beach, and is a well known landmark all over Costa Blanca.

From the sea,the city spreads up towards the hills. Calpe has two amazing, long, sand beaches at the seafront, where you will find restaurants, bars and cafe’s.

Calpe also has a modern marina where there are boat excursions along the shore line, and you can also go to Benidorm by boat.

If you want to experience a city rythm on your stay, but not as busy as Benidorm, then maybe Calpe is the right place for you to visit.
