Attractions Benidorm & Villajoyosa

Aqualandia is a waterpark, located in Benidorm in the Costa Blanca, Spain. It is twinned with the marine animal park Mundomar, which is immediately next door to Aqualandia, and shares the same free car park.

Water is sourced directly from the sea.

Mundomar is a marine animal park located in Benidorm, in Costa Blanca, Spain. It is twinned with the water park Aqualandia, which is directly adjacent to it, and shares the same car park. There is a viewing area at the top of Mundomar next to the Dolphinarium, which gives a view of the majority of Aqualandia.

Many different species can be viewed at Mundomar, including dolphins, sea lions, penguins, meerkats and many more marine and land animals.

There are dolphin, sea lion, and parrot displays several times a day at the park, where visitors can watch trained handlers interacting with the animals, and putting on spectacular shows.

Mundomar is usually open from February to December. WEB

Terra Mitica: Huge theme park with thrill rides a must visit place. The areas within the theme park are organised into seven various cultures, such as Greece and Iberia. Terra Natura are two zoo theme parks and aqua parks (Aqua Natura) located near Benidorm (Terra natura Benidorm) and Murcia (Terra Natura Murcia), in the Costa Blanca, Spain.

Terra Natura Animal Parks lets visitors make contact with animals with barriers invisible to the human eye. Many species can be viewed, including elephants, tigers, monkeys, lions, African buffalo and rhinos. WEB

Blanket trips: These are free tours to nearby resorts, towns and markets. Unlike timeshare sales, there is no hard sell and if you do not want to buy anything, that is fine. You do have to sit through a demonstration of bedding products but it’s a good way to explore the local area without spending any money.

Boat Trips: There are boat trips to the Isla de Benidorm wildlife sanctuary and Calpe. You can also take a trip to Tabarca, a small but inhabited island off Alicante.

There are a number of internet cafes, some coin fed. Free wifi can be obtained at several pubs and restaurants.

The Old Town, is a must see when visiting Villayojosa. Wander up and down the old, cobblestoned, narrow streets that goes to and from the beach. The city of Villajoyosa take great pride in their old part of town, and in the heart of the old town is the fortified church Iglesia Fortificada de la Asunción.

The seafront promenade,is another one of the must see’s in Villajoyosa, with the colourful old houses on one side and the Central Beach, with white sand sea on the other. along the promenade you will find numerous restaurants, bars and cafe’s with an absolutely fabulous atmosphere.

  • Carnaval, every February the city of Villajoyosa celebrates a large carnaval, which sets the entire town on its head.
  • Moros y Christianos, is a big fiesta in the end of July, where the locals reenacts an attack of the town at sea. It is truly an amazing sight and one of the most well known fiestas in the entire Costa Blanca region.
