Altea is a small town and municipality located in the province of Alicante, Spain, north of Alicante on the Costa Blanca.

The first tourists to come to Altea, were artists and musicians. Altea is therefore known for its diversity in arts and crafts and has a charming bohemian flair. The old town has kept its charm, with narrow chobbled streets, old architecture, kept predominately in the colours of blue and white, giving it the resemblance of a small Greek town. In recent times, Altea is also known for its many amazing restaurants and eateries, and is the home of several restaurants with Michelin stars.

Altea has, in spite of its recent growth and popularity kept the old spanish village feeling, and is a town that is very loved by both the Spanish population and by visitors.


El Albir is the most inhabited population center in the municipality of Alfaz del Pi.  It is bordering the Sierra Helada and in turn with Benidorm.. Albir is the Playa del Albir, endowed with a blue flag, a beach made up of stones and sand, cliffs also predominate in this area and some of them exceed 300 m of unevenness. El Albir is at an average of 76 m in altitude, although its low area is 0 m (sea level), and its highest area exceeds 160 m (Sierra Helada). El Albir is 2.5 km from the center of Alfaz del Pi and 2 km from Altea.
